Mind Map

"Mind Map" is a trademark of the Buzan Organization (see www.buzan.com). We have no association with this organization.
This is where Mind Mapping can help you.Have you ever studied a subject or brainstormed an idea, only to find yourself with pages of information, but no clear view of how it fits together?
Mind Mapping is a useful technique that helps you learn more effectively, improves the way that you record information, and supports and enhances creative problem solving.
By using Mind Maps, you can quickly identify and understand the structure of a subject. You can see the way that pieces of information fit together, as well as recording the raw facts contained in normal notes.
More than this, Mind Maps help you remember information, as they hold it in a format that your mind finds easy to recall and quick to review.

Do you like reading?

If you are learning English you are simply obliged to love reading. Reading is one of the basic and most productive methods of learning any language. Nothing will help you more than books. You shouldn’t immediately take serious work of the world famous author, for a start choose something simple, something that will be appropriate to your level. All large libraries always have an sector of  international book, where you can find books adapted for different levels of language proficiency. Start reading every day, let it be a small article or a short passage, and very soon you will notice that your vocabulary is richer and your speech is more confident. Do not waste your time reading boring books, read what you like and then it will go faster. So you will be able to kill two birds with one stone. And there is one more important truth. Reading is always useful! it develops your imagination, outlook and memory. There is an opinion that the Internet can replace books. Remember that  it is not true. An interesting book can cheer up even in the most difficult moments. Reading is great! So what are you waiting for?

The Role of Videos in Learning English

As you know practice plays an important role in every kind of studying and learning. What about our learning English it can not be successfull without any practising. To understand English-speaking people perfectly we should improve our listening skills. It is difficult for us because we live in Russian-speaking country, so we can not listen to English. But I do not think that it is a problem, and you will agree with me. The solution is to listen to different tapescripts as we do on our English lesson. I suggest you to watch films and cartoons on English language. As for me it is very interesting and useful, because you learn English and get pleasure of watching funny, thrilling or horror films at the same time. I think you will enjoy such a way of learning English. Here are some videos to watch

So, you do not have to go anywhere to watch films because now you can do it at home) Enjoy yourself!!!

A new tutorial on English

When you learn English yourself then you necessarily need a good tutorial. A good tutorial is half the battle.
There are a lot of good tutorials and sometimes it's too difficult to choose one of them. So, I suggest you one of the best tutorials in my opinion.
Petrova "A new tutorial on English."

The purpose of the book - an independent study of the English language within, allowing simple to read and translate the original text, including technical and scientific. Grammar contains only those rules that are necessary for the practical acquisition of language (written and spoken). Lexical basis of the tutorial is 2000 words.

Continue enriching your vocabulary...

As Zhanna said, it is very important to increase our vocabulary. She is right. English language also has lots of idioms and phraseologisms, so if you want to speak English fluently you should know different phrases and sayings. When I was studying at school, my friend and I did a scientific research. We read many books, such as Charles Dickens - “David Copperfield”, William Shakespeare - “Othello”, Sir Walter Scott - “Ivanhoe”,
Noel Coward - “Design for living”. Also we used many vocabularies, for example “The New Oxford American Dictionary”, “The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language”, “Longman Dictionary of English Idioms”, “The Oxford Russian Dictionary” and so on to find English phraseologisms including colors. We tried to find as many phraseologisms as we could and then systematized them in one dictionary. I think it will help you to read English literature, or may be to write your own novel...)))

There is no limit to perfection!

As students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages we are faced with a problem as multiple repetition of most frequently used words in our speech and in our writing. As future teachers of English we need to increase our vocabulary, because this is our profession. The problem is not  that English has a small vocabulary, it is quite the opposite. English language contains about 490 thousand words and another 300 thousand technical terms. For example, Shakespeare used in his works 33 thousand words.Undoubtedly, nobody can compete with him, but it's a great role model for all of us. If you like my idea, this table will be useful for you)))
